How strong is the effect of soundproofing compared to regular curtains?: In terms of a numerical value, the effect of soundproofing ranges from 8db to 25db (12~13db on average). For example, in the case of piano sounds, it is possible to reduce the sound from being heard loudly to being heard only slightly and to a degree that would not be bothersome, by installing COZE Soundproof Curtains.
※The soundproofing effect varies greatly depending on the circumstances of the customer's room and the manner of installation.
Is it better to have no gaps?: Yes. The soundproofing effect is stronger when there are no gaps. Sound will be able to travel through if there are gaps, so it is best to avoid gaps as much as possible.
Does the 5-layer structure mean that you are using 5 pieces of fabric?: No. Two of the three pieces of cloth are coated, which gives it its 5-layer structure.
How many hooks do they come with?: It depends on the size. As a guide, a ready-made size with a width of 110cm comes with 8 hooks attached to the curtain.
Are they effective at reducing the outside sounds of cars or trains?: The sound will be reduced to some extent, however it is likely to not be as effective as one may hope for deep bass sounds such as car engines.
Can you repair the curtains?: We do not offer curtain repairs. In this case, you will need to re-order a new curtain.
Are they effective at noise control for musical instruments?: It depends on the instrument, but the sound is highly likely to be reduced to some extent. For example, in the case of piano sounds, it is possible to reduce the sound which was previously heard loudly such that it is heard but no longer bothersome, by installing COZE Soundproof Curtains.
Are the curtains fire-resistant?: No, they are not.
Do you sell the curtain fabric alone?: No, we do not.
I don’t know how to read the Transmission Loss Graph.: The horizontal axis of the graph is the pitch (measured in Hz or hertz), and the vertical axis is the loudness (measured in db or decibels).
Can they be machine washed?: Based on the product specifications, the curtains cannot be machine washed due to the thickness and weight of the fabric. Please dry clean them, or wash them by hand.
Will the soundproofing effect decrease after washing?: We do not believe that the soundproofing effect will decrease even after washing.
